Here we are– the first official post for CROCHET N’ STUFF!
I have been crafting for over 40 years and it’s time I share the love. Crochet is my fav! I love the variety of stitches, the quickness, portability and the multiple items I can make. With social media there are so many projects, to see, so many ideas and so little time! I do however like to mix it up with a variety of crafts, so that’s where the N’ STUFF comes in the picture.
So why become a blogger now?
I have contemplated the idea of authoring a blog for the past year. There are tons of blogs that I love to read through and I realized this would be a great creative outlet for me, and a great way to share my projects and ideas. So I took the first steps: I secured a designer, wrote blog ideas, selected graphics. I set a launch date and guess what – that was months ago. You see life got in the way; work was busy; tried new projects and I kept putting the blog on the back burner. Life is typically always busy, so I had to ask myself what was the real deal? As I looked at all the blogs and thought about it, the looming questions came about:
- Do I have what it takes to write a blog?
- Am I experienced enough?
- Will anybody read it?
You know the drill. I let my passion become overshadowed by doubt and just other stuff. I let something that comes to me naturally and makes me smile, become smaller than my desire to share. I let my writing abilities, slip away into the technical aspects and taking next steps. As I looked at my craft room and all the “STUFF” I want to share, I decided that yes I can do this. I want to and I can!
You see I’m a communicator! Creating, sharing, organizing, and adding that touch of style are ways that I bring joy to others and consequently joy to my life. And if my crafting skills help me do that…. it’s a win – win!
I write this first post to announce to some and bring to others (some of ya’ll have heard that term before…..
CROCHET N’ STUFF IS IN THE HOUSE
More importantly, I write this first post to inspire others to take that next step. Perhaps you too have a passion, a business idea, and you want to take the next step but those pesky thoughts keep coming up: Am I experienced enough, I should wait until the kids get bigger, how will I balance my time, I should take a training course first, I am too old, I am too young, etc.
My hope is that my stepping out will inspire you to step out as well. We are all fearfully and wonderfully made, and have a unique something special to share with the world. So my lovelies, be inspired….it’s time.
Until next post, I leave you with this …..
Stop saving the good china for that special occasion.
Stop withholding your love until that special person materializes.
Every day you are alive is a special occasion,
Every minute, every breath is a gift from God.
